On the return water stop at Plymouth the hose was found to be too short, a quick thinking Driver was onto the signalman and the loco moved to another platform to take water. No delay was caused and at 1805 we departed to tackle the Devon Banks.
At Exeter more water was taken and the loco checked over by the support crew.
