The Cornishman - 70013 Oliver Cromwell

Here's a selection of pictures showing 70013 Oliver Cromwell on The Railway Touring's railtour to Par on Saturday 19 May. We first take a look at the locomotive with the coaching stock at Bristol Temple Meads.

By the time the tour had arrived at Plymouth the sun was out, this was the second water stop of the day.

Having been turned at St Blazey depot Oliver Cromwell prepares to depart from Par.

 Driver Ray Churchill

On the return water stop at Plymouth the hose was found to be too short, a quick thinking Driver was onto the signalman and the loco moved to another platform to take water. No delay was caused and at 1805 we departed to tackle the Devon Banks.
At Exeter more water was taken and the loco checked over by the support crew.
Journey's end back at Bristol Temple Meads on time.A great day out and with regular steam from Bristol to Cornwall this summer hopefully to be repeated!
